Browse before you map

Direct Explore lets you browse your own database tables before creating a Data Map. You can inspect tables without first saving a Data Map, which makes it a good first step after connecting a new source.

Direct Explore is browse-first. It lets you inspect your own connected database without changing it.

What you can do

Open any table in the connected source and review its columns and rows.
Sample data to understand content before adding tables to a Data Map.
In Full, download results as CSV, Excel, or JSON.

Browsing vs saving

Browsing is free-form: it is not capped by the Free 9-node Data Map limit. Creating reusable queryable tables requires a saved Data Map — see Working Tables. The Free limits only apply when saving, not while browsing — see Free vs Full.
